Project 3: HYBRID ANIMALS
For this assignment, you will be creating a HYBRID animal. You have the freedom to choose which 2 animals you want to combine together. Or maybe you want to be really imaginative and combine 3-4 different animals parts.
Follow these steps... 1. Find pictures of two different species of animals. 2. MERGE them in Photoshop. Meaning you will drag at selection of one animal into another image of an animal. 3. Create MASKS so that you can start to take away the unneeded areas. Remember to use the BRUSH TOOL, black will take away, and white will bring it back. 4. Try to match the lighting of the different parts so they look like they fit. When the body parts match, go to LAYER>MERGE VISIBLE. 5. Use the CLONING TOOL (set to 30-50%) and being to clone the skin of one of the animals so that it blends. 6. Save your file as Hybrid_yourname.jpg (save as a JPG format) |

Project 4: "STOP MOTION"
Stop motion animation (also called stop frame animation) is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical objects that are moved between frames. When you play back the sequence of images rapidly, it creates the illusion of movement. If you understand how 2D drawn animation (early Disney) works, stop motion is similar, except using physical objects instead of drawings.
The basic process of animation involves taking a photograph of your objects or characters, moving them slightly, and taking another photograph. When you play back the images consecutively, the objects or characters appear to move on their own. You see stop motion animation all the time—in commercials, music videos, television shows and feature films—even if you don't realize it. While it is common for people to think of stop motion as just one specific style, such as clay animation, the reality is that stop motion techniques can be used to create a wide range of film styles.
